Marine Steel Watertight Hatch Cover is access of cabin and deck which can be easily opened and handled by the crew. The major objective of hatch covers and coamings on ships is to prevent the ingress of water into the cargo hold and protect the goods from being damped and damaged.
Commonly used small hatch covers are in two kinds:
1) Weathertight hatch cover, usually installed in the deck above the freeboard deck and semi-enclosed open-deck superstructure or deck room interior deck.
2) Non-weathertight hatch cover that can only be used on a deck or platform inside the ship.
Hatch covers also act as a barrier to the ship’s internal structure by enduring the green water loads in extreme weather, which can damage the internal structure of the ship due to corrosion.
